Dean Kinshuk Elected to iSchools Board of Directors

DENTON (UNT), Texas — Dr. Kinshuk, Professor and Dean of the College of Information (COI) at the University of North Texas (UNT), has been elected to serve a two-year term on the Board of Directors for the iSchools consortium. As the esteemed international network comprising over 120 university information schools worldwide, the iSchools organization is devoted to advancing the information field into the 21st century.

Great Grads Fall 2021

Each semester, thousands of University of North Texas students earn their degrees and become UNT alumni. Every one of them should be tremendously proud of everything they've accomplished in their time in Denton.

Dr. Shobhana Chelliah named Fulbright-Nehru Fellow

Dr. Shobhana Chelliah to take fall sabbatical as she’s named a Fulbright-Nehru Fellow. The Fulbright-Nehru fellowship will require her full attention despite a brief delay in travel due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Chelliah currently serves at the Associate Dean of Research and Development, while being an active faculty member in the Linguistics department. This fellowship, considered highly competitive and only two are given each year.  

Easy steps to help parents grow to curriculum leader during COVID-19

Social distancing is putting more parents in the driver's seat when it comes to their child’s curriculum. Parents may feel comfortable monitoring studies at home but not necessarily picking books, activities or finding the educational value in playing video games.

Two experts from the College of Information put together a few helpful tips for parents who now find themselves in a new role as full-time instructional leaders.
