Dr. Yunfei Du co-authors new textbook for Data Librarians

The College of Information, Associate Dean of Academics and Professor Yunfei Du, released a new book aimed at the growing demand for information on data librarianship. This is Du’s third textbook on librarianship. The book titled Data Science Librarians co-authored by Hammad Khan, a data librarian at the University of Texas at Arlington, and a doctoral candidate in the College of Information at the University of North Texas.

Roosevelt Weeks: Alumni Spotlight

Meet College Of Information alum Roosevelt Weeks, Director of Libraries for the Austin Public Library. He’s a 2014 graduate of the Master of Library Science program. As Director of the Austin Public Library he leads a team and library system which includes 20 branch locations, the History Center and a new Central Library.

Linguistics grads will take flight this summer on Fulbright scholarships to Greece and Germany

Linguists and scholars Madison Muniz and Kristen Acker will travel to Greece and Germany respectively, in late summer. Both will serve as Teaching Assistants and help students to learn English.

“The Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship is an award that aims to improve relationships and cultural understanding with foreign countries. Essentially, Fulbright ETA award winners act as ambassadors,” says Acker, who will be teaching English to German students.
