FORT WORTH MUSEUM OF SCIENCE AND HISTORY JOINS SMITHSONIAN’S NATIONAL YOUTH SUMMIT ON GENDER EQUITY
Students connect past events with present-day issues
 Fort Worth, Texas (September 29, 2021)—The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History participated in the “National Youth Summit on Gender Equity,” an online outreach program organized by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History in partnership with Smithsonian Affiliations, from September 21 through October 12. Designed for teens and young adults across the country, this year’s topic will allowed youth to examine gender equity and efforts to fight against gender bias.
 
“We are excited to be selected to host a Regional Youth Summit,” said Dr. Deborah Cockerham, UNT Lecturer and former Director of the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History’s Research and Learning Center. “The historical investigations and livestreamed content provided by the Smithsonian will support our students in examining issues of gender, bias, and equity. We look forward to the conversations and positive actions generated by the project.”
