Alexandria Best, starting in June as Project Delivery Analyst at Deloitte, Austin TX

Alexandria just graduated in May 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Data Science from UNT’s College of Information. Last fall she was contacted by a recruiter through her Handshake profile. When Deloitte contacted her, she asked her professor about the reputation of the company and got good advice. Alexandria says her mom helped her with the profile after she transferred to UNT and had her orientation at Discovery Park, where she learned about Handshake. 

Alexandria chose data science as a major since she had always loved all things related to technology and had been a member of the Geek Squad in high school. Even though she did not have an internship or any job experience, she feels her education prepared her well for the interview with Deloitte, which was a three-round process. At the time, she also interviewed with the civilian sector of the Air Force in Colorado.

She says that she started this process in the fall and was offered the job before winter break. In the spring, she and her mom apartment hunted, and she found an apartment ready to move into in June. When asked what she will do after graduation, Alexandria says, “After graduation, I will rest up because June 5th I will be moving to Austin and starting my position at Deloitte!”
