Topic: My Life as a Linguist: A journey through linguistics inthe career of a Smithsonian curator
English Language Learning in Immersive Environments (ELLIE) is one-day symposium intended to bring researchers, developers, and educators in relevant disciplines together and discuss the elements of effective virtual environments for language teaching, especially for conversational English.
Join UNT College of Information – Department of Information Science faculty for an evening of fun and networking. This event is held in conjunction with the Texas Library Association (TLA) Annual Conference. Registration to the TLA Conference is therefore required in order to attend. Join the Department of Information Science for an Information Session about their M.S. with majors in Library Science or Information Science degree program this Wednesday, April 7 at 7:00 p.m. (CT) They will answer questions and provide a program overview, including requirements, concentrations, admissions, and more.

The session will give attendees the opportunity to learn from NEH senior program officer, Jennifer Serventi, about the many funding opportunities offered by the Endowment. She will cover the programs offered by the Divisions of Research Programs, Education Programs, Preservation and Access, Public Programs, and the Offices of Digital Humanities and Challenge Grants.
In her presentation, Serventi will address two related topics:
1) Opportunities that are available to faculty and staff, with a particular focus on support for digital projects; and
Consider teaming up to submit a proposal on the Clinton Global Initiative’s immersive ed tech design challenge. See additional links and details below. Their Corporate Social Responsibility team at Verizon is partnering with the Clinton Global Initiative for a student social innovation challenge. There are prompts about leading edge technology for health equity, climate justice and immersive education technology. Project submission deadline is Thursday, April 1, 2021.
