My current major is Information Science with concentration in Information Systems.

Why did you apply for this scholarship and what made you think you were a good match for it?
I applied for this scholarship because it offers an opportunity to continue my education in Information Science without financial constraints. My academic achievements, commitment to the field, and alignment with the scholarship criteria make me confident in my suitability for this award.

What are some highlights of your time in the program so far? Do you want to shout out to any specific courses or professors who have helped you along the way?
My time in the program has been incredibly rewarding, thanks to the support of dedicated professors, engaging coursework, and immersive learning experiences. I am grateful for the guidance and mentorship I have received from professors like Sarah Ryan [Info 5000] and Brady Lund [Info 5200], who have played a significant role in shaping my academic journey and preparing me for success in Information Science.

What are your career plans after graduation?
After Graduation, I am open to exploring diverse career paths within the broad field of Information Science, as long as they align with my interests and allow me to continue learning and growing professionally. I am excited about the prospect of contributing to innovative projects and making a positive impact in my chosen field post-graduation.

Can you share any big successes you’ve had or obstacles you’ve overcome?
One obstacle we encountered early in the project was the complexity of integrating various data sources and ensuring compatibility with existing systems. However, through effective collaboration and problem-solving skills, my team and I were able to overcome these challenges by conducting thorough research, seeking guidance from professors and industry experts, and leveraging emerging technologies.

I am deeply thankful for the scholarship awarded to me and for the unwavering support and guidance provided by the professors in the Department of Information Science. Their impact on my academic journey is immeasurable, and I am excited to continue learning, growing, and making meaningful contributions to the field of Information Science with their mentorship and encouragement.
