Commencement Participation

For College of Information bachelors and masters graduates only. Doctoral graduates should work with their department and TGS regarding any questions about commencement participation.

  • Spring and fall graduates should plan to participate in a commencement ceremony in their graduating semester.
  • Summer graduates are expected to participate in the following fall commencement in December.
    • Summer graduates requesting to participate in commencement early (in Spring) will need to be 3 hours away from degree completion for masters students and 12 hours away from degree completion for bachelors students.
  • Previous and graduating students can request to participate in a commencement up to one year after their graduating semester. However, there is no guarantee that these requests will be approved. The student will be notified if their request has been approved or denied in advance of the upcoming commencement's RSVP deadline.
