The Archives Learning Lab (ALL) investigates the relationships between people, archives, and records in an ever-changing world. The proliferation of the Internet, Web 2.0 technologies, and big data have all affected how individuals relate to, experience, and share information. From personal and family documents to professional and government records, individuals and communities are defined by the records they create and the records that are created about them. We work to bring together students, archivists, faculty, and others in an effort to facilitate collaboration and research on pressing archival questions.
Located adjacent to the Special Collections department in University of North Texas’
Willis Library, ALL is a collaboration between the College of Information’s Department
of Information Science and UNT Libraries. In addition to research opportunities, lab
participants are exposed to practical, hands-on applications of archival knowledge.
Mission:
The mission of the Archives Learning Lab is to support a diverse and inclusive multidisciplinary
archival learning community through collaboration and research on the connections
between people, their records, and archives.
