Dr. Moncia Surrency just successfully defended her dissertation, "Examining Usability,
Navigation, and Multimedia Learning Principles in an Intentionally Designed Asynchronous
Online College Course – A Usability Study." She is working as a Sr. Instructional
Designer at a private university in Florida. Infobytes asker her some questions about her experience:
Infobytes: What positive experience would you like to share about your time in the College
of Information?
Surrency: While going through the Learning Technologies distributed Ph.D. program, building
a bond and friendship with my cohort members was an amazing experience. From collaborating
on publications to providing moral support and motivation, my cohort has been a major
positive part of my doctoral journey.
Infobytes: What are your goals after graduation?
Surrency: My professional goals after graduating are to continue working as a Sr. Instructional
Designer. I'd also like to teach online courses and conduct more research focusing
on multimedia learning principles and online learning in higher education.
