Welcome! The online, immersive UNT Health Sciences Librarianship Fellowship Training Program is designed to build the health sciences librarianship competencies of library and information sciences (LIS) graduate students and librarians with less than three years of professional practice. The program is funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (RE-256708-OLS-24).
For more information, please contact ana.cleveland@unt.edu or jodi.philbrick@unt.edu.
The Online Immersive Fellowship Training Program in Health Sciences Librarianship aims to address the shortage of health sciences librarians by providing specialized training to library and information sciences graduate students and early career librarians. Health sciences librarians play a crucial role in improving patient care, reducing healthcare costs, and assisting with decision-making by delivering quality health information to healthcare providers, researchers, patients, and consumers. Despite their importance, there are few educational opportunities for specialization in health sciences librarianship. The fellowship program seeks to fill this gap by offering robust training to develop the necessary competencies for effective practice in health-related settings. With a positive job outlook, this program is essential for preparing the next generation of health sciences librarians.
