COI: What is your current major, degree plan, and professional concentration?
Pragna: My current major is Data Science, and I am pursuing a master's degree in this field. I am expected to complete my degree in 2024.
COI: Why did you apply for this scholarship and what made you think you were a good match for it?
Pragna: I see myself as a good match for this scholarship because of my strong academic background in relevant subjects, my practical experience in working with data, and my genuine passion for data science. Additionally, I believe that my ability to communicate complex concepts effectively and my eagerness to stay updated with the latest developments in the field make me well-suited for the challenges and opportunities in data science.
COI: What are some highlights of your time in the program so far? Do you want to shout out to any specific courses or professors who have helped you along the way?
Pragna: I have done 3 subjects in my first semester. Fundamentals of Data Science, Harvesting Storage and Retrieving Data, Data Modeling. I secured good scores. Professors helped us to understand the concepts.
COI: What are your career plans after graduation?
Pragna: I am aiming to be a Full Stack Data Scientist. This role involves not only working with data and applying machine learning techniques but also developing the software infrastructure to support data pipelines, model deployment, and user interfaces.
COI: Can you share any big successes you've had or obstacles you've overcome?
Pragna: Being a new entrant to this prestigious organization within no time I got
accustomed to the objectives of the organization and its culture. With constant perseverance
I excelled in my academics amidst facing challenges of adapting to new environment.
