COI: What is your current major, degree plan, and professional concentration?
Anunay: I am pursuing my MS in Information Science with a concentration in Health
Informatics.
COI: Why did you apply for this scholarship and what made you think you were a good
match for it?
Anunay: I applied for the scholarship thinking I would be a good match for it as I
met the eligibility criteria and also because I am deeply committed to pursuing my
education and achieving my academic goals. This scholarship opportunity aligned perfectly
with my aspirations, as it is specifically designed to support students like me with
a strong work ethic, passion for learning, and a good academic record.
COI: What are some highlights of your time in the program so far? Do you want to shout
out to any specific courses or professors who have helped you along the way?
Anunay: I've experienced a number of memorable highlights during my time in this program
that have enriched both my academic and personal development. I'd like to take this
opportunity to express my appreciation and recognize the invaluable contributions
of Dr. Craig Drayden and Dr. Ana D. Cleveland in the courses Health Sciences Information
Management and Medical Informatics. They have so far been instrumental in my journey
by guiding and offering me a Graduate Teaching Assistant position at the University.
They have ensured to make me push my limits to bring out the best in me. I am grateful
for the support, mentorship, and guidance I have received from these educators, and
I look forward to continuing my journey of growth and learning as I progress through
this program.
COI: What are your career plans after graduation?
Anunay: The MS program is helping me build my skillset in the fields of Information

By gaining knowledge in these areas, I aspire to become a Clinical Informatics Specialist
or Health Data Analyst. These fields will have a significant impact on improving the
flow and regulation of healthcare data, thereby improving patient outcomes.
COI: Can you share any big successes you've had or obstacles you've overcome?
Anunay: Throughout my academic journey, I have encountered both significant successes
and challenging obstacles that have shaped my character and determination. My big
successes in the program so far have been my journey as a Graduate Teaching Assistant
and being offered with this scholarship. Being an international student, the obstacles
for me have been cultural adjustments and being far away from family.
