Our VR research covers active shooter response and fire evacuation training, modules as well as the creation of Multi-User Virtual Reality (MUVR) systems for conducting coordinated evacuation drills in environments such as subways, airplanes, school buses, nightclubs, buildings, campuses, and megacities. We also develop Virtual Reality Instructional (VRI) modules designed to teach complex material in education and support training programs focused on improving care quality and patient safety in health domain. To support these immersive learning systems, the lab develops Virtual AI Tutors and generative AI–based Assistants that offer adaptive instruction and interactive support to enhance personalized learning.
