The College of Information offers the following master's degree programs:
Master of Arts in Linguistics
(Changing to MS in Spring 2025) in Linguistics with a concentration in ESL offers
                        students broad training in all core areas of the discipline. Our MA/MS programs prepare
                        students for challenging careers in a variety of industries, including government,
                        education, law, bioinformatics, and natural language processing. The ESL concentration
                        specifically prepares students for careers in teaching English as a second and/or
                        foreign language and language arts instruction for K-12 (with additional certification
                        and coursework from the College of Education). Our MA/MS programs also serve as an
                        excellent foundation for doctoral studies in Linguistics and other language-related
                        fields such as speech pathology, deaf education, audiology, or the teaching of English
                        as a second language.
A Master of Science in Linguistics 
For incoming students beginning Fall 2024, UNT Linguistics will offer an MS in linguistics.
                        This degree is a STEM-designated program and will offer students broad training in
                        all core areas of the discipline.  The MS will prepare students for careers in a variety
                        of industries, including government, education, law, language documentation, description
                        and language archiving, natural language processing, and more. The MS will also serve
                        as an excellent foundation for doctoral studies in linguistics and other language-related
                        fields such as speech pathology, deaf education, audiology, computational linguistics,
                        or the teaching of English as a second language.
Master of Science in Learning TechnologiesProvides a foundation in learning and educational technologies for the creation, delivery and enhancement of the learning experience. Degree tracks in Instructional Systems (IS), Instructional Systems Technology (IST), Instructional Systems Design (ISD), or Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT) are offered. The Master's program prepares graduates for dynamic roles in Instructional Technology and Learning Technologies in both academic and corporate settings. This program is aligned with the revised standards published by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE).
Master of Science in Library Science OR Information Science
Prepares students to succeed in a wide range of library and information science positions
                        including digital image management, librarianship for schools, youths or distributed
                        learning, legal or health informatics, information organization, and information systems.
Master of Science in Data Science
Prepares students for careers in data science and analytics with a broad knowledge
                        of the required tools, techniques, and methods. The program focuses on relevant areas
                        including statistical analysis, natural language processing, computational linguistics,
                        information retrieval, information visualization, social network analysis, text analytics
                        and data mining. The program helps graduates to acquire the types of skills and competencies
                        needed in designing, implementing and transforming data sets and large volumes of
                        information into actionable knowledge.
Master of Science in Health Informatics (MS-HI) program
Designed to educate leaders in health informatics who can apply data science and information
                        management methods and techniques to improve the delivery of healthcare with a patient-centered
                        focus in diversified environments.
