Jeonghyun Kim
Principal Investigator

Dr. Kim is a Professor in the Department of Information Science at UNT and is currently working on the IMLS-funded project Data Science for 21st Century Library and Information Professions with Dr. Rorissa. She was a Co-PI on an IMLS-funded project from 2011 to 2015 that built a Graduate Academic Certificate program in Digital Curation and Data Management. Since then, she has directed and coordinated that program at UNT. She has published her research in leading academic journals, including the Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, Library & Information Science Research, and Journal of Documentation. She has served as Editor-in-Chief of The Electronic Library journal since 2020.

Lingzi Hong
Co-Principal Investigator

Dr. Hong is an Associate Professor in Data Science at UNT. Her research focus is to develop AI methods and solutions that are deeply attuned to human needs and behaviors. She has publications in top-tier AI conferences, including AAAI, EMNLP, ICWSM, NAACL, and COLING, and high-impact information science journals, such as IJHCI and JASIS&T. She is the PI of two applied research grants supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS): Inclusive Services to Enhance Immigrants' Resilience to Crisis (LG-256661-OLS-24) and Gauging Library Needs for Advanced AI-Assisted Cataloging (LG-256666-OLS-24). She serves as the Chair of ASIS&T SIG Social Media, the co-chair of the IDEA (Innovation, Disruption, Enquiry, Access) Institute on AI, and the Vice Chair of Panel Track for ASIS&T 2025.

Dr. Brady Lund

Dr. Brady Lund is an assistant professor of information science at the University of North Texas. His research examines critical factors at the intersections of information, data, technology and society, focusing particularly on the impact and policy implications of emerging data technologies on cultural practices and higher education contexts. His work has been published in several major interdisciplinary journals, including the Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, Journal of Documentation, Library and Information Science Research, Information Development, Accountability in Research, and Scientific Reports (Nature). Brady is also co-director of the Computational Humanities and Information Literacy Lab (CHILL) at the University of North Texas, co-advisor of the UNT Student Chapter of the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T), and past chair of the ASIS&T Midwest Chapter.

Gracen Porray
Research Assistant

Gracen is a master’s student in library science at the University of North Texas. She previously received her BA in English at Texas A&M University, where she served as a student tutor for various research projects. Her main interests include the facilitation of accessible information in more vulnerable communities and education. In addition to her research assistant work in the advancement of data literacy education in community colleges, she currently works as a freelancer for the creation and maintenance of small-owned company websites.
