Dr. Meyase also has strong interests in morphology, language documentation, historical linguistics, preservation of endangered languages, loan word phonology, and World Englishes.

CoRSAL is pleased to announce the upcoming addition of the Angami Tenyidie and Related Languages Collection. This collection is the result of the work of Dr. Savio M. Meyase, a Newton International Fellow (The British Academy) postdoctoral researcher based at the University of York. His current project is entitled Documentation of Complex Tone Systems in Endangered Tribal Languages Of Nagaland, Northeast India.

Dr. Meyase's work focuses primarily on tone and how it is represented, with a geographical  concentration on the languages of Northeast India. His second Ph.D. was earned in Linguistics, at the University of Leipzig. That dissertation explored tonal representation in languages with complex tones, such as his native language of Tenyidie [Angami]. 

Dr. Meyase also has strong interests in morphology, language documentation, historical linguistics, preservation of endangered languages, loan word phonology, and World Englishes. He has taught English phonetics at The English and Foreign Languages University Hyderabad and served as an assistant professor of English language and literature at Don Bosco College Kohima."
