Welcome to the home page for our ongoing efforts to advance data literacy education in community colleges. Our work spans two interconnected projects designed to better understand and address the data literacy needs of community college students by empowering librarians and fostering collaboration across campuses.
Phase 1: Student Data Literacy Needs in Community Colleges: Perceptions of Librarians, Students, and Faculty (RE-252374-OLS-22)
Our initial project focuses on examining the perspectives of community college librarians, faculty, and students regarding data literacy. This phase seeks to identify the specific data literacy competencies required for student success, laying a foundation for informed strategies to address these needs effectively.
Phase 2: Building Community College Library Capacity for Supporting Students' Data Literacy Needs (RE-256673-OLS-24)
Building on the insights gained in Phase 1, our current project aims to position community college librarians as key leaders in data literacy education. Through training, resources, and collaboration, this phase equips librarians to foster data literacy success among students, strengthening library capacity as a cornerstone of institutional support.
Together, these projects reflect our commitment to empowering students, faculty, and librarians to navigate and thrive in an increasingly data-driven world.
