Aundrea Caraway

Aundrea Caraway, the Online Student Experience Manager at UNT, is a seasoned speaker with over 7 years of experience in educational technology within student affairs. Holding a BS in Accounting, an MBA, and a recent MS in Learning Technologies, she seamlessly transitioned to her current role. Aundrea's dedication to enhancing online education is further evident as she serves as a guest speaker of Industry Insights.
 

Travis Kimpler

Travis Kimpler graduated with a BA in History and English from Texas State University in 2016 before earning his MS in Library Science from UNT in 2022. His journey led him to become a Law Librarian at Travis County Law Library. Travis initially interned with the Texas Legal Services Centre during his paralegal certification, which later led to a practicum position at the Travis County Law Library, now his full-time role.

Marissa Criswell

Marissa Criswell was a high school biology teacher in Katy ISD when she began collaborating with the school library on projects for her classes. The librarians in her school encouraged her to consider moving into the library, which brought her to UNT’s Master of Library Science program with the school certification focus. After finishing her degree, her husband was transferred to the DFW area, and she decided to take time off to raise her kids.

Laura Tadena

Laura (she/her/ella) is currently the Community Engagement Librarian at Austin Public Library in Austin, Texas. She says this position allows her to engage and build relationships with the community while also taking on exciting projects at the library.

Fariba Fard

Fariba Fard was teaching classes in data visualization and communication as adjunct faculty in the Department of Information Science and planning to find a post doc position after graduating with a PhD in Information Science with a concentration in Data Science in May 2023. She was also finishing up her dissertation, entitled “Development and Utilization of Big Bridge data across the US” when on a whim, she looked at job openings and saw one at PACCAR that seemed to be a good fit. She decided to apply and was soon informed they wanted to interview her.

Renu Chaurasia

In the bustling world of job hunting, Renu Chaurasia emerged as a rising star. Graduating this May with a Master's Degree in Data Science, her journey was nothing short of remarkable, involving 200 applications, 20 nerve-wracking interviews, and the eventual sweet victory of three job offers. Renu's destination? The prestigious role of Senior Data Engineer at GSK Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, nestled in the heart of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Sonya Lemke

Sonya Lemke, a dedicated professional who graduated with a master’s in library science from the University of North Texas in 2012, found herself at a crossroads in her career. Driven by her love for books and information, she had always been a librarian at heart. However, a twist in her journey led her to explore the realm of health information science.
