Dr. Yvonne J. Chandler Mentorship Program

Mentee Application

The Dr. Yvonne J. Chandler Mentorship Program is a benefit for students/new professionals and more experienced professionals to enhance their professional knowledge, skills, and success in their fields. It was created to continue the legacy of Dr. Yvonne Chandler in mentoring of novice library science students, but COI is expanding her reach to include all departments, majors, and concentrations: Library Science, Information Science, Linguistics, Learning Technologies, and Data Science.

The purpose of the Mentor Program is to offer opportunities for alumni club members and students to develop deeper relationships with colleagues, network for job opportunities, share best practices, collaborate on research, and increase engagement within the UNT community of experienced alumni, new alumni, and current students.

Timeline and Process:
Applications for mentees will be received until the start of each semester (e.g. September or January). Candidates are then matched based on department, major, concentration, and professional goals. Kickoff meetings will be scheduled to discuss roles and expectations for all mentors and all mentees a few weeks after the semester starts (e.g. late September or January).
